ViSTA, the Valhalla School of Theatre Arts, is a dynamic theatre arts program set in a simply idyllic
location! ViSTA's drama school for children and youth boasts top notch theatre faculty from across Western Canada - top notch both in their
professional credentials, and in their outstanding skills and experience in working with children and youth in the theatre! We have a fantastic
lineup of faculty this year once more under the great Artistic Direction of Jim Dugan, Drama Dept Head at the University of Calgary. |
 |
| Whether it's working on theatre games, set design,
movement, voice, scriptwriting, or improvisation, ViSTA students will have a blast with theatre in Silverton and Nakusp this summer!
This year we offer two consecutive week-long programs in the two different communities geared to kids aged 8-13. |
 | Superheroes
abound through the ages, from ancient mythology to the present, Achilles to Lara Croft. The instructors are looking forward to having the
students choose and develop their own superheroes, creating stories full of meetings, conspiracies and conflicts between a large variety of
Superheroes. Students will work on voice, movement, improvisation and theatre games in developing a final performance to share with families and
friends on Saturday evening at 7:00 p.m. |
| The program ends with a final showcase of student
work, performed to an adulating crowd of parents, grandparents, summer visitors and community members. This is ViSTA's fifth year. Based on the
rave reviews from previous years, you definitely want to be there in 2010! Be sure to register early for a terrific summer theatre program and
celebrate the ViSTAs of soaring mountains and pristine lakes! | |
